Amazon Cloud Player Now Works with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch
Amazon's Cloud Player medicine streaming service of process launched only with Humanoid compatibility, but an update rolled out this weekend quietly introduced basic support for Orchard apple tree's iOS. If you have an Amazon Cloud Repel account (5GB free, plus a free 20GB upgrade if you purchase an album via Amazon MP3), you can now stream music along iOS devices too.
There's no native iOS app for Amazon's Mist Player, such as the united for Android smartphone owners, only rather, you can listen to your songs stored online via Safari, the inbuilt web browser along iOS. And equally TechCrunch and Engadget note, it works like a charm.
To catch information technology practical, you just have to sharpen Safari happening an iPhone or iPad to the Amazon Befog Player site. A dissuasive page will recite you that your browser is non supported, but you'll just get to brush off that. Once you're past the warning screen, you're in: you can escort each your songs stored on Amazon's servers.
You then just get to select the song or play list you want to play, and music will start streaming to your iOS device. IT even whole shebang with the iOS multitasking and volume controls (take on/pause/skip songs), indeed you can eavesdrop the background while playing your dearie spirited. If a call or push notification comes through, music will suspensio, fair equal you would be listening from the native iPod app.
Using the Amazon Defile Player Web interface from iOS has its caveats though: you can't set trail and drop to rearrange songs in playlists, and you can't upload files because it requires Flash. The latter shouldn't be a big problem, as probably most users of Amazon Cloud Musician upload their songs via a diarrhoeic computer. But this rudimentary iOS compatibility should be enough for iPhone and iPad owners until Apple unveils its own cloud music service.
